If you are one of my many regular readers, you are unfortunately aware of the slow response of my blog. I know I have to improve the situation and make my wordpress site faster, but you know how it can be sometimes. Your own stuff comes last.
But I did a check recently with a tool called ”Pingdom” and it was not encouraging. I have to admit, 90 % of all tested websites were faster than mine! Terrible.
But what can cause that slow speed, and how can I make my wordpress site faster?
Thre are so many reasons why your site is slow, and by using Pingdom (a free tool), you will get a lot of advice on what can be wrong. Often it is a combination of many things from a slow web host to bad programmed plugins. Other reasons can be many large pages, database problems and the list goes on.
But except the tiresome wait, why do I need to make my wordpress site faster?
A slow website will be bad for your SEO. If Google does not get a response in time, that will affect your rating and that might end up in less traffic and less leads.
So with this short post, I will start my investigation in how to improve my website speed to make the experience less frustrating for myself and for you, my dear readers. I will make my wordpress site faster! And I will of course get back to you with my updated results and what I did to reach them.
